Carol Beck

Born and raised in the Hudson Valley, Carol Beck has been an integral member of the Dutchess Outreach team for the past fourteen years. As Volunteer Administrator, her general duties include maintaining two-way communication between the organization and its volunteers, recruiting and scheduling volunteers, managing the Spring Food Appeal and Annual Coat Drive, ensuring saying thank you to volunteers through the Volunteer Recognition Reception, writing the volunteer newsletter and so much more. A Mom and retired nurse, Beck has compassion and kindness embedded deep in her soul, allowing her to fully excel in this position. She says, “I enjoy meeting and working with people from diverse backgrounds. It is very rewarding.”

Her extensive and varied experiences have allowed her to go above and beyond her daily duties to really make volunteer relations the best and most effective it can be. Beck began her career by obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Health Education. Previously, Beck worked at St. Francis Hospital in medical/surgery nursing. After taking a well-deserved break to raise her children, she earned a certificate in Non-Profit Management. She began working with the Girl Scouts of Dutchess County as the Director of Membership and Adult Development. After a fulfilling career with the Girl Scouts, Beck retired in 2000. Not long after, she accepted the Volunteer Administrator position with Dutchess Outreach in 2001 and continues to positively impact the community.

When Beck isn’t coordinating volunteer schedules or organizing events, she mainly enjoys being with her grandchildren. However, she also loves gardening, scrapbooking, antiquing and reading.
